Allison didn’t want to be known around the world for her looks. She’d worked hard to become a professional pole vaulter, and all this attention was distracting people from her actual talent.
To try and turn things around, Stokke ended up filming an interview where she talked at length about her passion and offered advice to people interested in taking up pole vaulting. However, it was no good. After the video hit YouTube, it received thousands of views, but most of the comments continued to focus on her appearance.
