Luckily, while everyone else was fixated on Allison’s appearance, CBS was interested in the way her newfound fame had affected Stokke. They turned her rise in popularity into a news story that focused on the dangers of talking about a young girl’s appearance.
They could see that the pole vaulter was incredibly talented at what she did, yet no-one was talking about her sporting prowess. They hoped to highlight the impact all these comments were having on her mental health. Maybe that would make them finally stop.
