Penny Mosby is Ted’s daughter, who is often seen in the future scenes where Ted is narrating to her and her brother Luke the story of how he met their mother. Her name, just like her brother’s, is unknown throughout most of the series, but is finally revealed during the ninth season. Throughout the seasons, the kids are seen wearing the same clothes and sitting on the same sofa, except for the pilot, suggesting that Ted’s story didn’t take so long to tell after all.
