Although Mafalda Hopkirk is a relatively minor character in Harry Potter, she has been present at some of the most important moments of Harry’s life. As a Ministry of Magic worker, Mafalda takes pride in her job within the Improper Use of Magic Office.
In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Mafalda makes her voice heard (quite literally) after she sends Harry a Howler for using magic in front of Muggles. She then sends another three years later and also makes an appearance in The Deathly Hallows, when Hermione uses Polyjuice Potion to impersonate her.
