Many of the Muggles in Harry Potter are often depicted as cruel and unkind, but Mrs. Cole is an exception to that trend. Although she is only a minor character, we are able to judge her matriarchal personality from her small role in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
Mrs. Cole appears in the flashback scenes in this movie, as Dumbledore and Harry are trying to get to the bottom of Lord Voldemort’s plans and early life. In this case, Mrs. Cole was the matron of the orphanage where Tom Riddle grew up.
