After five years of playing Cat Valentine, Ariana finally retired the character in 2014. By that point, most people attributed Cat and Ariana as the same person, and the star was ready to show that she had her own identity.
The rumor mill alleged that it was because of Ariana wanting to break free that “Victorious” was given the chop, although the singer herself shifted the blame towards co-star Victoria Justice. Whatever the truth, there was no love lost between these two when the sitcom went off the air.
