“Yours Truly” received universal acclaim from critics for its unique sound and exceptional vocals. The touches of R&B that were present throughout the album were something that Ariana had always strived to include in her music, even from a young age.
Before “Victorious” came along, the teen star announced her interest in producing an R&B album to her managers. They weren’t sure of the appeal it would have while the singer was still only 14, but clearly having that dream worked out for her in the end.
