Storyteller was Underwood’s last album fulfillment as part of her American Idol contract. In 2017 she signed her first record deal post-Idol with Universal Music Group and Capitol Nashville. Fans eagerly await what Underwood’s new sound and direction might be. The event marked the first time the massive star was able to choose her own label and her own team. In an official statement she said that Capitol shares her same vision and she looks forward to delivering her next album to her fans as soon as possible.
