If you see one driver ant, you can almost guarantee its colony is close by, because these insects rarely live in colonies of less than 20 million. Although they are small, these ants are incredibly feisty, and can kill any animal that comes in their path when they work together. Amazingly, even large elephants avoid big colonies of these ants, because of their tough stingers and their powerful jaws that can shear hard objects. A bite from a group of these ants would be excruciating.
