[post_page_title]Marbled cone snail[/post_page_title]
The marbled cone snail is incredibly beautiful, but if you ever see one of these marbled shells in warm waters, it’s best not to pick it up. Unfortunately, more than 30 humans beings have already suffered at the hands of this animal’s venomous harpoon, and those that have survived have reported symptoms of paralysis, temporary blindness, lack of breath, numb limbs and intense pain. The primary purpose of the marbled cone snails venom is to catch its prey, but it will fight back if humans get in its way.
