Following on from roles in various shows that ended up being canceled in the next few years, White landed the biggest role of her career in 1985. Starring alongside Estelle Getty, Bea Arthur, and Rue McClanahan, White found herself on the show ‘Golden Girls’ for the next seven years. Although having originally been offered the role of Blanche, White and McClanahan swapped, and Rose Nylund was born! The show was overwhelmingly successful, and went on to become an icon in television entertainment.
