Before Hecox and Padilla broke up they were two best friends who met in sixth grade science class. They began posting funny videos online when they were in high school and their brand took off. Outside of their popular YouTube channel the duo shot and released a feature film called Smosh: The Movie that starred the duo as fictional versions of themselves. While the future of Smosh is uncertain, Padilla announced via his solo channel that he plans on continuing releasing comedy sketches under his own production company.
