Back in 2007, Jesse James found himself in hot water with the California Air Resources Board (CARB). He had been selling motorcycles that breached the clean-air laws in California, between 1997 and 2006. Jesse’s defense was that he didn’t know about the rule changes, but CARB still fined him a whopping $271,250. He claimed that he was fined such a huge amount as he was a celebrity and had a high-profile marriage with the actress Sandra Bullock, but CARB denied that was the case.
