Jesse James’ TV career didn’t start with Monster Garage. Back in 2000, the Discovery Channel made a documentary around West Coast Choppers, a business that Jesse had set up back in 1992. He started WCC from his mother’s garage, and it quickly grew to become one of the biggest motorcycle brands in the whole of America. Even before he started building custom choppers, Jesse was raking in the big bucks through his Iron Cross branding. After Discovery saw how popular Motorcycle Mania was, they decided to hire Jesse for their new show idea – Monster Garage, which first aired in 2002.
