Newly adopted dog smells so bad that police have to get involved

[post_page_title]The shelter situation[/post_page_title]

Since pitbulls are abandoned in such record numbers, it’s often up to shelters to care for them. However, their unjust reputation as aggressive dogs make them difficult to adopt out, prompting many shelters to just flat out refuse to take them in.

Even the shelters that do accept them, however, are faced with a prospect of more canine mouths to feed with little prospect of finding them a home. The tragic end result? More pitbulls are put to sleep in shelters than all other dog breeds combined.
