Once he decided he was going to drop out of school, Travolta thought that the next best step for him was to move the short distance into New York City itself. However, he found the Big Apple wasn’t as kind to him as he’d hoped, never being able to find the breakthrough that he so craved.
After a couple of TV commercials, he decided that Los Angeles would be the best place for him to kickstart his acting career. Ironically, he was given the chance to star in the Broadway version of Grease, before the movie, but it meant he would have to trek back to New York.
