Thiessen was nominated for a Teen Choice Award for TV Actress in a Drama thanks to her role in Fastlane. She followed up that success by launching her very own production company. Hoping to make TV shows and movies that she believed in, Thiessen produced and directed the short drama film, Just Pray, in 2005. Her directorial debut earned several accolades when it was rolled out on the festival scene, but Thiessen hasn’t directed anything since.
Though she chose to end her time as a director after just one film, it showed once again that she was multi-talented and had a fruitful career after dabbling in these different fields. Perhaps, though it was probably some good experience for her resume, Thiessen decided she preferred to be on camera, not behind it. She is, after all, the talented actress that we’ve loved for decades. Maybe it was for the best that she continued to act instead.
