While we love watching Thiessen cook, we also love watching her act. Thankfully, she came back to acting in 2018 with a heartwarming comedy that really will, well, just warm your heart. Her most recent acting role came in the sitcom Alexa & Katie. It is definitely a move away from cooking to return once again to acting, which is perhaps what she does best.
As usual, she stars in a show that revolves around the life of high school kids, but now she plays the mother of one of the students. Alex & Katie is a comedy, which is interesting because the content matter is no laughing matter. The show follows the kids as one of them undergoes treatment for cancer, all while trying to get through one of the most important experiences in life: high school. It brings something serious, twisting it into something that can still make you smile and it does it spectacularly.
