Tori’s father, Aaron, is an award-winning producer with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He also produced Beverly Hills, 90210, in which Tori had a main acting role. However, despite her father’s support early in her career, her mother, Candy, commented that Tori’s lack of communication broke her father’s heart. Aaron’s health then worsened due to oral cancer. He passed away on June 23, 2006 following complications stemming from a stroke he had five days prior.
