In 1978, Michelle Pfeiffer began her journey to fame when she won the Miss Orange County beauty pageant, along with placing sixth in the Miss California competition. Following these accomplishments, an agent picked her up for her to begin her acting career.
With her agent, Pfeiffer was given much-needed advice and assistance, and started auditioning for television and movie roles. That same year, Pfeiffer made her acting debut in a short appearance in one episode of the television series, Fantasy Island.

In the early 2000s, Pfeiffer decided to shut down the film production company she had created – Via Rosa Productions – and proclaimed herself semi-retired. She didn’t want to give her career up, but she wanted more time to spend at home with her family.
She has since made sporadic appearances in different productions, including Hairspray, which garnered her multiple awards, and ‘Murder on the Orient Express.’ Now her children are at college, and she has stated that she will make a full resurgence into the acting industry.
