Dolly Parton wasn’t ever just a 70s star. Parton made her debut in 1965 and is still hugely popular today. In 1973, Parton released her incredibly famous single, Jolene, reaching the top of the country music charts in 1974.
The song was also her very first hit to chart in the U.K. Over the mid-70s, Parton had multiple top 10 country singles, and crossed over into the pop industry, releasing Here You Come Again; which was number one on the country charts, and 20 on the pop chart.

Since then Parton hasn’t become less popular. She released a range of DVDs about her life and all of her music, along with bringing out more albums and singles over the years.
She embarked on a world tour in 2011 and has performed and recorded with a plethora of artists, such as Brad Paisley and Miley Cyrus. She also aided in the writing of Cyrus’ album, Younger Now, and featured on Kesha’s Old Flames Can’t Hold a Candle to You. The world is very much still in love with Parton.
