Rene Russo was spotted in 1972 at a Rolling Stones concert by an agent, who later prompted her to get signed by Ford Modeling Agency. She was one of the most successful models of the 70s and 80s, appearing on magazine covers and advertisements.
She was often the cover girl for prestigious magazines like Vogue, Cosmopolitan, and Mademoiselle, earning her immense stardom. She later had her first television debut in 1987, after stepping out of the spotlight – and show business altogether – for a while.

Most of Russo’s acting career has been in the more recent years, with the 70s being the prime of her modeling career. She featured -in, and helped to produce, Two for the Money in 2005, starring alongside Al Pacino and Matthew McConaughey.
She also played Frigga in Thor and Thor: The Dark World. She has also been part of the cast of Nightcrawler in 2014, as well as The Intern in 2015 with Robert De Niro, and Just Getting Started in 2017 with Morgan Freeman and Tommy Lee Jones.
