Miss World America 1972, Lynda Carter, earned her fame for precisely that. She was also a semifinalist for the title of Miss World 1972.
Carter is famous for her beauty pageants and modeling, as well as starring in Wonder Woman as the title role. The character brought a huge number of fans to Carter’s name, along with having her named as one of the honorees in DC comics’ 50th anniversary Fifty Who Made DC Great.

In 2007, DC Direct brought out a 13-inch statue of Wonder Woman, which was re-released in 2010. They also released a bust of her, that same year. As if the fans and honors weren’t enough to remind Carter of her incredible fame, but now there were statues of her in circulation!
She played Principal Powers in Disney’s Sky High in 2005, as well as providing the voice for characters in video games, such as The Elder Scrolls series. No role could ever compare to her fame as Wonder Woman, however.
