After many years of being involved in theater productions, Bernadette Peters moved to Los Angeles in 1970, in an attempt to focus more on a career in televisions and films.
Thanks to her theatrical fame, Peters was already well-known, and so, getting roles in screen productions wasn’t too difficult. She appeared in numerous feature films and television movies; many of which earned Peters awards and nominations. Although, she never left her theater-loving roots, and has still played roles on stage and on Broadway.

Peters played a part in the 2003 film, It Runs in the Family, and Come le formiche in 2006. In 2012, she also starred in Coming Up Roses, directed by Lisa Albright. On top of this, she has continued acting on stage in recent years.
Bernadette Peters appeared in the Broadway revival of A Little Night Music in 2010, Follies in 2011, and 2017 revival of Hello, Dolly!; all of which were well-received by critics and fans. Although she has appeared less on television recently, she is still a huge name in theater.
