By 1971, Charo, born María del Rosario Pilar Martínez Molina Baeza – we can see why she just uses her stage name – was headlining shows in Las Vegas.
She appeared eight times on The Love Boat, alongside various other talk and variety shows, including The Mike Douglas Show, and Donny & Marie. However, despite her ever-growing fame, it was reported that Charo wasn’t actually largely popular. Her familiarity to the world grew steadily, but her popularity dropped a percent as her recognition rose by 23 percent.

Charo is still making her way in the show business and music industry, but it seems to be on a much smaller scale these days.
She has a regular touring show and also performed as an entertainer on three sailings of two different Royal Caribbean cruises, Explorer of the Seas and Adventure of the Seas. Charo has made many guest appearances on shows such as Dancing with the Stars and RuPaul’s Drag U. She returned to entertaining on the Disney Magic cruise for the Eastbound Transatlantic crossing, too.
