In the mid-60s, Phyllis Davis moved from her home in Nederland, Texas, to Los Angeles, to pursue her dream to act. She took lessons while there, at the Pasadena Playhouse.
She began by auditioning to be a part of Love, American Style in 1969. Over 200 actresses had already been turned down, but Davis was hired on the spot. She starred in the series for five seasons, which led to her being noticed, and, in turn, landing other small movie and television roles.

Davis’ fame grew throughout the years, as she landed parts in Knight Rider as Tanya Waker, had guest roles in Magnum, P.I., The Love Boat, and The Wild Wild West, and appeared in all 66 episodes of Vega$ which aired on ABC from 1978 to 1981.
In 2013, Phyllis Davis became increasingly ill with cancer, and she eventually passed away on September 27, 2013. She had been living in Henderson, Nevada, which is where she lost her life at the age of 73.
