Doris Day’s career spanned over many decades, with over 20 awards to date, and several further nominations.
By the 1970s, Day was already immensely famous, having acted in numerous films and televisions programs, along with recording her own music and hosting The Doris Day Show and Doris Day to Day. She also released an autobiography about her career and all of the controversy along the way, particularly surrounding her husband’s passing and the debt she was consequently left in.

In 2004, Doris Day was awarded a Medal of Freedom. She was also inducted into the Hit Parade Hall of Fame in 2007. 2010 saw Day awarded with a Legend Award, presented by the Society of Singers.
At age 89, Day released her album, My Heart, in 2011 in the U.K. where much of the profits went towards the Doris Day Animal League rescue. She is now retired and spends most of her time adopting and rescuing stray animals – probably surrounded by all of her awards!
