In the 1970s, Mary Tyler Moore was most well-known for The Mary Tyler Moore Show, quite obviously based on herself. The show was a newsroom sitcom, based upon a single woman and her life. The show was a popular comedy, and Moore became somewhat of an icon.
She starred in a whole hoard of programs, mainly based on herself, such as Mary and The Mary Tyler Moore Hour. She also worked alongside some big Hollywood names, like Dick Van Dyke, even appearing in Dick Van Dyke and the Other Woman.

Following her huge fame, Moore continued performing on Broadway and starring in television shows for many years.
She has since passed away – in 2017, at 80 years old – but had previously earned herself many awards, such as the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Drama for her role in Ordinary People, and seven Emmy Awards. Despite no longer being with us, Moore is still an icon for her humor and personality. Her legacy will no doubt live on for many more years to come.
