At this point, Kate and William both clearly had enough of being attacked by the press – and the Prince made a statement expressing his concern about the on-going “harassment” saying that he wanted “more than anything” for his girlfriend to be left alone. The situation got so bad, that it resulted in warnings from Kate’s lawyer threatening legal action, urging the paparazzi to use restraint and to respect Kate’s privacy.
Although the threat caused a few newspapers to refrain from using the pictures they had taken from her birthday – the celebrity couple continued to get followed on a daily basis – which most likely was one of the reasons they took a break in April, 2007.
