As the timid germaphobe Emma Pillsbury in ‘Glee,’ Jayma Mays was nothing like a cheerleader. However, just because the character would never strut her stuff on a squad, that doesn’t mean the actress wouldn’t either. When Mays was in high school, she was a passionate member of her cheerleading team.
Like with many of these stars, being on the squad helped her gain confidence and strengthened her performing skills. These are two things that have certainly come in handy for her career, which started some years after she graduated.
