Sandra Kerns who played Ellen Powell was a regular in the first two seasons, but quickly disappeared from the show. It was reported that she decided to retire from acting, so was rarely seen on “Charles in Charge” except for three appearances over the last two seasons. She left Hollywood in 1993, and has led a quiet life with her husband who is a stuntman and her two children in Pacific Palisades, California. Hopefully she is enjoying retirement.
