Buddy’s character was played by actor Willie Aames who went on to have quite a varied acting career. He became well-known for the character of “Bibleman” who he voiced from 1995 to 2002. He also wrote and directed most of the episodes. Since Aames was the creator he was largely in charge of the content. The aim of the show was to familiarize children with biblical stories and promote Christianity to a younger audience. Bibleman used scripture to fight against his enemies.
