Many criticized Pavel’s role as a father and a motivator and believed that he was pushing his son too far. However, Richard himself has since denied this. In fact, he noted that bodybuilding was “mostly my choice” and that he was “never forced.” However, it is hard to tell what’s considered to be a child’s choice, when they do something from a very young age. Kids don’t always know what’s best for them, so it’s often up to their parents to decide for them.
