[post_page_title]The last film of Cecil B. DeMille[/post_page_title]
At age 75, DeMille was already the oldest director working in Hollywood in that era. Prior to The Ten Commandments, he had numerous accolades to his name, including winning an Academy Award for Best Picture for his work on The Greatest Show on Earth in 1952.
With those successes behind him he planned to continue his cinematic genius with The Ten Commandments, and even more from there. Unfortunately, this was the last film he ever had a chance to make, and he passed away in 1959 from heart problems.
