[post_page_title]At the Academy Awards[/post_page_title]
With its huge success at the box office and groundbreaking cinematic effects it was hardly a surprise to see The Ten Commandments nominated at the 29th Academy Awards in 1957.
In total, it was nominated for seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Sound Recording, and Best Color Cinematography. However, the only one it actually won for was for Best Special Effects, credited to the head of the department John Fulton. The film went on to receive accolades at the Golden Globes, National Board of Review, the American Jewish Congress, and more.
