While filming The Ten Commandments in Egypt, Cecil B. DeMille went to check one of the cameras perched on one of the massive gates used to film the Exodus scenes, which was supposedly between 107 to 130 feet tall.
It was then that he suffered a significant heart attack. DeMille’s doctor told him that he needed to rest and take time off, but he ignored his doctor’s orders and was back on set within a matter of days to continue his work until filming ended.

For many years, if you were to look at the credits you would never know who was the voice of God in the film. Fans have speculated over the years trying to figure out just whose voice it could be, but were never totally certain if they were correct.
Eventually, decades later, Charlton Heston revealed that director Cecil B. DeMille used a combination of both of their voices to produce the unique voice of God that you can hear in the film.
