Because of the Jersey Shore fame, the people who live in this area have been stereotyped into a very specific box. Most notably, it’s believed that they have incredibly strong accents where they say things like “New Joisey” and “forgettaboutit.”
Although the people of Jersey Shore do have an accent, it’s not quite as pronounced as those on the show make it to be. Considering the majority of the cast aren’t even from the area, their accents should not be associated with the real residents.
