Michael Jackson is one of the most iconic pop stars to ever live. Known to many as the King of Pop, Michael had a tremendously successful singing career, to say the least. His sixth album, Thriller from 1982 continues to be the best-selling album of all-time, selling 66 million copies worldwide. Of course, the pop star was known for more than his singing, and received great criticism the years leading up to his 2009 death for his ever-changing physical appearance, multiple legal accusations, and controversial parenting style.
The late singer is now survived by his family, including his three children named Michael (nicknamed Prince), Paris, and Michael (nicknamed Blanket). Although Prince and Blanket have both been out of the limelight for the most part, Michael’s only daughter, Paris Jackson is the opposite. The blue-eyed beauty is now 19 years old and making her own name for herself, outside from being the daughter of music royalty.
When Paris and her siblings were young, Michael received a great amount of negative attention due to his unique parenting techniques. From dangling baby Blanket outside of a window to covering his children’s faces with masks when they were in public, controversy seemed to follow him wherever he went. Despite the frequent negative backlash at the time, Paris has only fond memories of her father, and now proudly claims that he was an amazing dad who only wanted to provide his children with a childhood as “normal” as possible.
Of course, growing up on a 2,700-acre lot called Neverland equipped with amusement park rides and a zoo seems anything but average, Paris has revealed that she and her siblings actually had a pretty “normal life” growing up.
It is hard to believe that it has already been about nine years from Michael’s shocking death. Since her father passed away, forcing to live life in the public eye from such a young age has proven to be a challenge. As a young teen, Paris had a difficult life struggling with depression and often found herself making poor choices with the wrong crowd. However, the rising star claims that she is now happier than she has ever been.
Over the years, Paris has transformed from a young girl known only as Michael Jackson’s daughter, to a rebellious teenager, to a successful top fashion model and TV and film actress.
