As a child, Paris’ identity, along with her siblings’, older brother “Prince” Michael Jackson Jr. and younger brother “Blanket” Prince Michael Jackson II, was fiercely protected by her father. In her early photos, Paris was seen primarily in masks or wrapped scarves in order to cover her face from the public. Although the pop star received much criticism at the time, Paris said in an interview that she now “understands” her father’s decision. “When we went out without him, we wouldn’t be recognized and we could have a normal childhood.”
