While the show was a huge success all over the world, Gene Simmons Family Jewels was under criticism for showing scenes that had been faked. Some of the events in question were purchases Gene made that never existed, as well as arguments between Gene and Shannon that were reportedly falsified. It seemed as though fans of the show wanted the real deal, but they were left disappointed. However, Gene stated the end of the show had nothing to do with these claims as he wanted to focus on Kiss.
