After the tragic death of Prince in 2016, Gene managed to get himself into trouble once again by speaking before thinking. This time his comments were aimed at the late Prince as Gene spoke of how he believed the musician was a fool for living a life of illegal substances and drinking. As expected Gene managed to annoy just about every Prince fan in the world (including his entire family), but later made an apology stating he shouldn’t have let his emotions get the better of him.
