Cher in particular was having a hard time accepting her daughter’s transition, and took a while to finally come to terms with it – admitting it was pretty scary at first.
“You have this child for 40 years, and suddenly they’re going away,” she said, referring to her fears as a parent. After overcoming her initial reaction to the process, she became an advocate for the LGBT community and shows full support for her son in whatever makes him happy.
