Pretty Little Liars: where are they now?

Pretty Little Liars had been one of the most intriguing mystery shows on television in the past few years. Based on a book series written by Sara Shepard, Pretty Little Liars is set in a fictional suburban town called Rosewood, and centers around a group of girls (the “Liars”) who are rattled by the disappearance of their friend, Alison.

As they begin getting harassing texts from a mysterious stranger who calls herself ‘A’, the girls come together and try to find the person who’s trying to ruin their lives and unveil their secrets, getting involved in an intricate web of schemes and danger.

The main antagonist identity known as ‘A’ has different faces it throughout the show, but the premise behind it stays the same all along – everything you’ve done can and will be used against you. This is what forces the characters to go through great lengths to protect their family, friends, and loved ones – and what also makes for a pretty interesting ride.

Debuting in 2010 on Freeform (formerly ABC Family), Pretty Little Liars gained popularity and formed its own fanbase. In its running years, the show and its cast members were nominated for, and won, quite a few awards including the Teen Choice Awards for best drama and People’s Choice Awards for Favorite Cable TV Drama.

The show even received two spin-off shows of its own. The first of these was Ravenswood, which aired while the show was still running, and followed five strangers whose lives inevitably intertwine by a curse that’s been threatening their town for years. The supernatural drama was cancelled after one season. The second spin-off is a new show which received approval in 2017 by Freeform, called Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists. This show is based on a second novel series by the same author, and will star some of the main characters of Pretty Little Liars, in addition to new characters and plot lines.

With its share of mysteries, Pretty Little Liars has undoubtedly left its viewers on the edge of their seats, leading them to engage in endless speculations, especially about the identity of ‘A’. However, the show’s success wasn’t solely due to its thrilling storylines, but to the actresses and actors who brought it to life so realistically. The show, which ran for seven seasons, ended in June 2017 and left us missing our favorite characters. So why not take a few moments to find out what the cast has been up to since the show went off the air?

The character of Aria Montgomery is portrayed by Lucy Hale. Aria is one of the main characters – an edgy, artistic type, often found drawing or photographing. One of the main relationships on the show is the one Aria has with Ezra Fitz, which starts before either of them knows he’s going to be her English teacher at school. And although they carry an on-again-off-again relationship, eventually they end up together. Aria, who becomes a publisher, also helps Ezra write his second novel.
