Ashley Marin, Hanna’s mother, is portrayed by Laura Leighton. She is left devastated when her husband left her for another woman, but Hanna pretends that their separation was eventually for the best, and that her mother is happier now. Ashley is a fierce mother, often going through great lengths to protect her daughter, and step up when ‘A’ causes the Liars trouble. She is also framed by ‘A’ for killing Detective Wildens, but eventually manages to get the charges dropped.
