Before 2012, Jersey Shore was a thriving coastal area that saw thousands of people descend to its shores every year. However, it had never quite been able to make a name for itself as a luxury hot spot.
That same year, the whole region was caught up in the winds of Hurricane Sandy. Buildings were destroyed, homes were washed away, and the Star Jet roller coaster ended up in the ocean. Although this was a devastating return of events, it allowed Jersey Shore to reinvent itself with new money coming in.
