Johanna Mason is the winner of the 71st Hunger Games who represents District 7 during the third Quarter Quell. She won her first game by pretending to be a coward, waiting until only a few of the other tributes remained before revealing herself as a ferocious competitor.
Sarcastic, she makes Katniss uncomfortable at first, but plays an important part in her rescue by the District 13 during the third Quarter Quell. Mason is captured by the Capitol and later rescued along with Peeta and Annie.
