While some Facebook users believed that the only reason was due to the company, and/or the cashier trying to steal money, others had a very different story.
Some people commented how they believed the code was, indeed, put on by a cashier, but the number was entered incorrectly, which is what caused the significant error. Some items in the store need to be hand typed in if their barcode is missing, and these people believed it was an incorrectly entered jacket that was the issue.
