Walmart didn’t take long to announce what had really happened. In fact, it was the day after they had received Sharon Bufford’s complaint that they had solved the mystery of the $10.
The retail store discovered that the source of the charge was indeed an incorrect barcode that had been entered by the cashier. Sharon was able to go in and receive her refund for the mistake, but that isn’t where it ended for the store.
