Back in 2012, the Mexican subsidiary of Walmart, Walmart de Mexico, was embroiled in allegations of bribery. Thousands of Walmart stores were opened up around Mexico in a very short amount of time. And when we say short, we mean “shorter than should be legally possible” short.
Allegations began to arise that the head CEO of Walmart de Mexico was personally delivering suitcases full of cash to Mexican officials in order to receive the building permits necessary for constructing so many stores.
