Not before long, Pattinson scored his first big-budget Hollywood role in the 2004 film adaptation of Vanity Fair starring Reese Witherspoon where he played Witherspoon’s character’s son. Unfortunately, the scenes that he appeared in were eventually all cut, something that he didn’t find out until he showed up for the film’s premiere.
Luckily, Pattinson didn’t let his frustration get to him, and he ultimately gained a decent role in the movie Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire as Cedric Diggory, the Hufflepuff heartthrob who competes against Harry in the Triwizard Tournament. The part was just what the future star needed to get his name on the map, paving the path for his biggest break yet.
